Our Centre

Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre shares a campus with Mount Hawthorn Primary School.

In recent years Mount Hawthorn has undergone considerable change, with younger, professional families moving to the area, rebuilding or renovating and beginning families, as a result the mainstream Primary school is, and has been for several years, at capacity. Unlike us, to attend the Mount Hawthorn Primary school, students must live strictly within the Mount Hawthorn PS intake area.

Mount Hawthorn ESC shares a P&C and School Board with Mount Hawthorn PS.  The Centre is generously supported by the P&C who make significant contributions every year towards equipment, IT and environmental improvements.

The Centre lies within the North Metropolitan Education Region (08 9285 3600) and is in the City of Vincent.  Access to the centre is from Killarney Street or from Scarborough Beach Rd, Mount Hawthorn.

Canteen

There is an online canteen run by the P&C. HERE is a link to their website.

Uniforms

Uniforms can be bought from the campus Uniform Shop which is open on Wednesdays from 2.30 to 3.15, or you can put a form in the yellow box in the mainstream front office. Go HERE for more information.

School Buses

The students come from the surrounding suburbs and our wider catchment area which includes North Perth, Dianella, Yokine, Tuart Hill, Herdsman, Wembley, Subiaco and Nedlands.  The Public Transport Authority provides two buses for our students serving different areas.  The eligibility criteria for students whose parents wish them to travel on the school buses is dependent on this Centre being their closest Education Support Centre facility.  At the present time most of our students are from suburbs other than Mount Hawthorn. Here is the website for more information on the SCHOOL BUSES.

Below is a map showing the approximate area (pale blue) where special buses drive to our school.  Parents who live near the edge of this area should check with School Bus Services to see if there is a bus that comes to our school rather than a neighbouring education support centre.
